Sean "Inches" Jackson (SlamBall/Nike Freestyle)
Anyone on a quest for that next shit already knows the deal about TNN's aggressive action sport SlamBall. Combining elements from basketball, hockey, and gymnastics, SlamBall attained a solid rank of avid fans in the first season, which was played in the summer of 2002. It is a full contact sport that looks like a real life video game, and the players have their own methods of surviving it. Sean "Inches" Jackson was one of the first athletes selected to help develop the game by creator Mason Gordon. Players worked for nearly two years to perfect the moves and rules before the games were played competitively, and Inches took a spot as a Handler on the MOB team for the first season. "It's like a point guard," he explains. "Their position in the game is to handle the whole floor, make sure their team's all in order and make sure they run their plays." The four-on-four games consist of one Handler, two Gunners, and one Stopper on each team. "[The Gunner is] your two and your three - your shooting guard and your wing," explains Inches. "They take balls from the Handler and they hit off the side tramps. The Stopper, that's your four and your five. They're the big men - they block shots, they're the ones who hit you. They check you when you're not looking and hit you on the side of the wall." "Every dunk is three points," he continues. "Shoots from outside the perimeter are three points. Everything inside the tramps is two points. If a person jumps in the tramps, a person is allowed to goal tend. If a person shoots from outside the tramps perimeter, you can't block the shot. There's only three personal fouls and you foul out the game." SlamBall wouldn't be complete without the slam-dunks, all performed when the players launch from any of the three trampolines (or tramps) surrounding the net. Inches' signature dunk, The McNasty, is just one of the incredible moves fit for any highlight reel. Inches' reputation as a street baller both in the U.S. and overseas earned him respect for his game, as well as spots in the Nike Freestyle and Nike Boeing commercials. He has appeared in several movies including Love And Basketball, Scary Movie 2, and Like Mike, and in the TV shows Arliss and City Of Angels. After the first season of SlamBall ended, he expanded his exposure, so to speak, in the 2003 Alaye' Men's Calendar as the model for the month of June. TNN picked up SlamBall for a second season in 2003. The games have been taped, and will air on the new TNN (SpikeTV) beginning in August. It is a guarantee that people will be tuning in to see what the fuss is about, and if they appreciate intense action, they definitely will not be disappointed. Quotes

"One of the main things I liked about SlamBall was the intensity when the game was being played and you would see Sean "inches" Jackson fly the McNasty over Dion Mays! How many sports can you expect to see the little guy abuse the bigger player?" ~sepehr shahrooz
